Jerhemy Owen shares the latest developments from the forest restoration project he is running in Aceh. After cutting down about 1,300 illegal palm trees on an area of 10 hectares, his main focus will shift to re-greening the affected area.

This program is being carried out in several regions in Aceh in collaboration with conservation organizations and local communities. The effort aims to restore the forest ecosystem while creating long-term benefits for the environment and the surrounding residents.

Jerhemy ensures that the area previously filled with illegal palm oil will not be left empty. "We will plant trees to restore it to its original forest," he wrote while giving the latest update.

A total of 20 thousand trees will be planted in the Tenggulun area, Aceh Tamiang. Meanwhile, in the CRU DAS Peusangan, Bener Meriah, the number even exceeds more than 150 thousand trees.
