Kimberly Ryder Will Involve Family as Witness in Divorce Hearing with Edward Akbar

This decision was made after mediation attempts between the two were declared unsuccessful, thus the divorce process must proceed to the main issues such as replies, rejoinders, and witness evidence. Kimberly Ryder's attorney, Machi Ahmad, revealed that Kimberly's family will be witnesses in the trial.

"Basically, one of the family members (of Kimberly Ryder) will be made a witness, the point is that it benefits us," said Machi at the Central Jakarta PA on Wednesday (21/8).

1. Number of Witnesses More than One

Although it has not been confirmed how many witnesses will be presented, Machi stated that the number is likely more than one. "(The number of witnesses) We are still discussing with the client, for sure more than one," he said.

There is a specific reason behind Kimberly's decision to involve her family as witnesses in the divorce trial with Edward Akbar. According to Machi, only the family knows in depth the journey of Kimberly and Edward's household.

"Witnesses to strengthen our lawsuit from its points, we also want to bring witnesses who have seen and heard," explained Machi.

2. Kimberly Does Not Limit Edward's Meetings with His Children

In this divorce process, Edward Akbar is said to have never met his children. This was conveyed by Machi, who emphasized that his client, Kimberly, has never restricted Edward's meetings with their children.

"As for that, from the evidence we hold, also, chat evidence, there has been none. In fact, my client has asked if he wants to see them or what, my client does not restrict the children from meeting their father, even offering, we also look at the chat evidence from my client," concluded Machi.

The next hearing, which will be held on September 25, 2024, is expected to provide clarity regarding various issues in the household of Kimberly Ryder and Edward Akbar. Kimberly's side hopes that with the presence of witnesses from her family, the divorce lawsuit filed can be strengthened and provide the best outcome for all parties involved.
