Mediation Failed, Edward Akbar Still Wants to Maintain Household with Kimberly Ryder

Kapanlagi.com - The divorce hearing between Edward Akbar and Kimberly Ryder was held again at the Central Jakarta Religious Court on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. This session was scheduled for the reading of the mediation results, where both parties were not present in person and were only represented by their respective legal counsel.

Edward's legal counsel, Justiartha Hadiwinata, stated that the previous mediation did not yield results and was considered a failure.

"The previous mediation did not reach an agreement, therefore the judge stated that it would be given to discuss the main subject matter," said Edward's legal counsel, Justiartha Hadiwinata, on Wednesday (21/8/2024).

1. Mediation Failed

Although the mediation was declared a failure, Justiartha emphasized that Edward still has a strong desire to maintain his marriage with Kimberly. Edward is even willing to try mediation outside of court if there is an opportunity.

"However, it is indeed the result of the mediation that failed. Therefore, it will proceed to the main case," said Justiartha.

2. Make Various Efforts

Justiartha also explained that Edward is ready to make various efforts to maintain the integrity of his household, both through legal channels and personal approaches.

"All kinds of efforts will be made. Whether outside or inside. Although it has indeed failed in court, we will still make every effort," he said.

3. Will Involve Family

On the other hand, Kimberly Ryder plans to involve her family as witnesses in the evidentiary hearing scheduled to take place on September 25, 2024, at the Central Jakarta Religious Court. This was revealed by her attorney, Machi Ahmad, who mentioned that one of Kimberly's family members will be a witness to support this divorce lawsuit.

"Basically, we will make one of the family members (of Kimberly Ryder) a witness, essentially someone who will benefit us," said Machi Ahmad.

4. Witness More than One

Machi also added that the number of witnesses to be presented is still under discussion with Kimberly, but it is certain that there will be more than one person.

"(The number of witnesses) We're still discussing it with the client, for sure more than one," he said.

5. Kimberly Ryder's Divorce Lawsuit

This divorce lawsuit was filed by Kimberly Ryder on July 12, 2024, through e-court and registered with case number 916/Pdtg/2024/PAJP. Kimberly and Edward have been married since 2018 and have two children from their marriage.
