Mpok Alpa's Husband Is Not Yet Brave Enough to See His Late Wife's Belongings

The departure of comedian Mpok Alpa forever leaves a profound sorrow for her husband, Adji Darmaji. Seven days have passed since his wife's departure, but the feeling of loss has become even more tangible with every second of his life.

There are so many simple moments that have now turned into the most precious memories that he deeply misses. Adji Darmaji also shared small things that he used to experience with the late wife.

"The moments that feel real are when our days were always together with the late wife, like for example, she always cooked every day, right? I would also be called, 'Sir, Sir, eat first,' like that," said Adji Darmaji when met at his home in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Thursday (21/8/2025).

In fact, the little complaints from Mpok Alpa that used to feel ordinary now become something he deeply wishes to hear again. The man affectionately called Bang Adji reminisces about how the late woman often scolded him for his habit of leaving towels around carelessly.

"These days, she would often complain, 'Sir, your habit of leaving towels around, put them away!' like that, 'Put them back in their place,' things like that. Those days are no longer here, gone. But even though she's not here, she will always be in his heart," he said.

The deep longing makes him unable to bear looking at the portrait of his wife still displayed in several corners of the house. He admits he would immediately shed tears if he accidentally saw Mpok Alpa's face in the photo frame.

"Not yet. Not yet. And my biological mother is still around to comfort me. 'Why is this being taken down?' I cried right away. Seeing me cry, I didn't respond like that," he said.

Not only photos, Adji Darmaji is also not strong enough to touch the belongings of his late wife. He even requested that these items be covered so that he wouldn't see them for a while.

"Not yet. I haven't seen any of those items, in fact, I asked them to be covered, like covering the boxes so I wouldn't see them. I'm not strong yet, but someday I will definitely be strong, I will definitely be strong, like that," he said.

The sadness also affected his rest time, which became very disturbed and of poor quality. Adji Darmaji expressed that he found it very difficult to close his eyes because the image of the late wife always appeared in his mind. "I only sleep for an hour, I can't keep my eyes closed for long, the image of my late wife makes me wake up immediately, like that. I don't want to be even sadder later on," he explained.

In the midst of his overwhelming longing, Adji Darmaji admitted that he had never once been visited by the late Mpok Alpa in a dream. He is still waiting for a 'greeting' from his beloved wife, even if only in his sleep. "For now, not yet. Heeh, I haven't dreamed of her, haven't dreamed anything, like that, I haven't even got an address," he concluded.
