Nikita Mirzani Called by the KPK Regarding Alleged Bribery of Officials

The legal drama ensnaring Nikita Mirzani seems to be entering a new and hotter chapter. No longer just a defendant, this mother of three has openly admitted to receiving an official summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

This hot potato was thrown after she attended a hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (2/10/2025).

This shocking confession immediately attracted attention. Nikita mentioned that the summons letter from the anti-corruption agency was directly related to her report some time ago regarding allegations of bribery involving law enforcement officials in the case that ensnared her. "I just received a letter from the KPK that I am called to provide a statement. The letter just arrived at my house today," said Nikita Mirzani.

The KPK's move seems to be a breath of fresh air for Nikita, who has felt there have been irregularities in her legal process from the beginning. Instead of being intimidated, the 38-year-old woman welcomed the summons with open arms and expressed her readiness to be transparent."Of course, I'm ready... ready (to be examined)," she said firmly.

Considering her status as a detainee, Nikita estimated that the examination process would be carried out by investigators visiting the detention center where she is held."Usually, if someone is detained, they go to the detention center," said Nikita.

The summons from the KPK seems to validate Nikita's resistance. Previously in court, she even dared to play a recording that allegedly contained a conversation about bribery to expedite her legal process. She believes that there are "invisible hands" that made her quickly designated as a suspect and detained.

With a tone full of disappointment, Nikita poured out her heart in front of the panel of judges. She feels she has been treated unfairly, as the money she received is claimed to be purely for work, not from extortion.

"I can't comprehend why I could be detained. I received that money solely for work. I've never extorted anyone," she asserted."I was designated and detained so quickly. Not even a month. I thought the law in Indonesia was fair, but it turns out it's not like that," concluded Nikita.

As is known, Nikita Mirzani has been charged with alleged extortion against Dr. Reza Gladys. This case began with threats on social media and a demand for money amounting to Rp 5 billion, which led to a police report and multiple charges against her.
