Razman Arif Nasution Ready to Leave Indonesia and Not Afraid of Being Imprisoned, Following the Chaos in the Courtroom with Hotman Paris

Kapanlagi.com - Razman Arif Nasution, the defendant in a defamation case reported by Hotman Paris, is back in the spotlight after an incident of chaos in the North Jakarta District Court a few days ago. Razman emphasized that the chaos was not significant and he actually felt like the aggrieved party.

"There was a little chaos. Why do I say little? Because nothing was damaged, no heads were bashed, no blood flowed, and so on. What happened was that I was pushed. To be honest, I was the one who was wronged, but I forgive that," said Razman when met in the Epicentrum Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, Saturday (8/2/2025).

This incident occurred during a trial that featured Hotman Paris as a victim witness. Razman revealed that the hearing, which was initially open to the public, was suddenly declared closed by the panel of judges, which triggered strong protests from him. He considered the decision to be unfair and disregarding the prior agreement.

"Actually, it was agreed from the beginning that the trial would be open to the public and allowed to be live. But when Hotman was present, the panel of judges made it closed instead," Razman stated.

1. Feeling Pressure and Believing the Court is Not Neutral

Razman also highlighted the arrival of Hotman Paris, whom he claimed was escorted by several bodyguards. According to him, this adds pressure to the trial process.

"Hotman came escorted by 4 or 5 bodyguards into the courtroom. I have a video to prove it," said Razman.

Razman's dissatisfaction with the panel of judges has also escalated. He believes the attitude of the Chief Judge, Sofia Tambunan, tends to be not neutral.

"I see there is no intense communication between the chief judge and the members. The decisions are always immediately decided, this is excessive," he complained.

2. Disappointed with Law Enforcement in Indonesia to the Point of Considering Moving

Disappointed with law enforcement in Indonesia, Razman even expressed his intention to leave the country. He feels that the law in his homeland can no longer be trusted.

"I once told my wife, I am ready to leave Indonesia. I have been offered to teach at my university. I don’t need to stay in Indonesia because the law is corrupt," he asserted.

Nevertheless, Razman emphasized that he is not afraid of facing legal processes, including the possibility of going to prison. He expressed his readiness to fight for the truth.

"Do you think I am afraid of prison? No. I dedicate my life to die for the law and Indonesia. I am not afraid to fight against humans, because I fear Allah," he said while banging the table during the press conference.

3. Want the Law to Be Enforced Fairly

The chaos that occurred during the trial was referred to by Razman as the peak of his disappointment with the legal system. He hopes this process serves as an important lesson for all parties involved.

"I just want the law to be enforced fairly, not manipulated like this," Razman stated emphatically.
