Sarwendah Moves to a New House, Claims Joint Assets from Ruben Onsu are Problematic

Kapanlagi.com - Sarwendah has chosen to move from her old house and now resides in a new home in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta. This move was explained by her lawyer, Chris Sam Siwu, as a consequence of the division of joint assets following her divorce from Ruben Onsu.

In the South Jakarta District Court, on Wednesday (22/7/2026), Chris outlined communications from the bank regarding the house assets divided during the joint asset process. "There is a letter from the bank indicating that there will also be plans for an auction. So this house is actually part of the joint assets. RO received two assets, our client received two assets," Chris Sam Siwu said when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

He added that the assets received by Ruben Onsu, referred to as RO, are in good standing, while the assets that went to his client are associated with banking issues of a significant value.

"However, the assets obtained by RO are clean and clear, with no issues at the bank. It turns out that the assets given to our client have problems at the bank, which are quite substantial," he continued.

Chris explained that the house that is part of the gono-gini is referred to in the bank letter as an object that has the potential to enter the auction process. He stated that the asset division was done two to two, with each party receiving two assets.

According to him, the difference in asset status after the division became a crucial point. The asset received by RO is stated to be free from issues, while the asset received by Sarwendah is currently encumbered with the bank, with a value he described as large.

This information was conveyed in front of the media after the agenda at the South Jakarta District Court. This explanation also reveals the reason why Sarwendah decided to leave the old house and choose a new residence.

2. Moving Steps and Affirmation of Legal Authority

Chris stated that his client decided to move to avoid being dragged back into issues related to the asset. He mentioned that Sarwendah's current financial condition is already independent, so the decision to move was made to focus on family.

"Our client does not want to be dragged into that vortex again; our client, with her independent finances, yes, our client is better off (choosing) to move. To seek what? To seek happiness with the children," he said.

Chris also requested that the ongoing process with the bank be respected. The handling of the civil case related to the asset has been entrusted to the legal team, while Sarwendah is said to not want to be associated again with the ownership of her ex-husband.

"So please just respect the process with the bank; that is a matter we lawyers will handle. The important thing is that Mrs. Wenda does not want to be pulled back into this, the impression that this still belongs to RO and everything, that is actually already clear," Chris continued.

3. Explanation to the Children and the Chronology of Old Debts

On the other hand, Sarwendah conveyed that moving to a new residence brings its own challenges for her family, especially when it comes to explaining to the children without cornering anyone. "It definitely requires my effort to explain why we have to move, you know. I will explain as minimally as possible, as best as I can without cornering one another," said Sarwendah.

Chris then elaborated on the background of the financial issues attached to the house. He stated that the debt on the occupied house existed before the joint property agreement was signed and has not been settled until now.

"At the time it was signed, it was divided into two houses, but it turned out that the occupied house had an extraordinarily large debt, which was already there before the agreement was signed and has not been paid. So since August 2024. That’s why we have heard that there is already a process for auction. That’s what surprised our client," concluded Chris.
