8 Portraits of Ditho Sitompul Remembering the Intangible Heritage of Hotma Sitompul: Faith, Leadership, and Service
Ditho Sitompul remembers the intangible legacy left by Hotma Sitompul, namely faith, leadership, and service.
Kapanlagi.com - This year's Ramadan feels different for Cici Paramida and Siti KDI. For the first time, they are experiencing the holy month without the presence of their mother, who passed away on Thursday (17/4/2025).
Cici reminisces about the previous Ramadan moments as a time that her mother always looked forward to for gathering with family. That togetherness is now just an unforgettable memory.
"My mother usually wanted us to gather together during Ramadan, she wanted her children to be together, to break the fast together, to have sahur together," recalls Cici when met at TPU Budi Dharma, Semper, North Jakarta today, Friday (18/4/2025).

The moment of Ramadan has always been an opportunity for families to grow closer. For the late one, being together with children and grandchildren is a special happiness.
"Because we are Siti, still here in Jakarta, so gathering with the grandchildren is very enjoyable. 'What do you want to do later? What do you want to do?'," she continued.
The atmosphere of the house, which is usually warm and full of laughter, now feels empty. Cici said that her mother really enjoyed simple moments like praying together with the family.
"And we can also pray together, side by side," said Cici.
On the other hand, Siti KDI admitted that she still feels unsatisfied in serving her mother. She expressed a deep sense of loss due to the departure of someone who played a significant role in her life.
"For sure, as a child, you never feel satisfied. In terms of serving parents, no matter how long, of course, a mother is a mother who has taken care of us since we were little, there is never such a thing as enough," said Siti.
The feeling becomes more intense because the month of Ramadan, which is usually filled with beautiful moments, has now become a month full of loss. Siti recounts that the passing of her mother during this holy month makes the wound feel deeper.
"And the thing about such moments during Ramadan at that time really makes you feel the absence of your mother, it hurts," she said.
