'ROHTRIP': A Horror Comedy Film about a Chilling Journey

Kapanlagi.com - Rak Buku Media and Bushi Bros Films have officially begun production on their latest film titled ROHTRIP. This film is scheduled to be released in theaters soon and features a horror story packaged with comedic elements, offering a different experience for Indonesian film enthusiasts.

ROHTRIP tells the story of six friends traveling from Yogyakarta to Jakarta, which turns into a terrifying experience as they are haunted by supernatural beings along the way. The story idea originated from a real horror experience encountered by one of the producers.

"The first time I heard the story idea for ROHTRIP, it was when we were hanging out together, that is me, Ardi (Producer), Tata (Screenwriter), Dicky (Director). We were discussing the horror experience of one friend who was possessed in the car and how chaotic it was at that time," said Cornelio Sunny, the film's producer, in Yogyakarta, Sunday (27/4/2025).

Cornelio also added that this idea evolved into a story about friendship facing terror from each character's perspective.

"From just a story about hangout experiences, this idea developed into a film that we believe will make potential viewers laugh and be entertained," he said.

This film features a talented cast including Ratu Sofya, Gabriella Ekaputri, Cornelio Sunny, and comedian Arif Didu. Other names participating include Marella Mulwanto, Alif Rivelino, Hanief Boyratan, and Regina Suhari, promising a delightful and entertaining combination of performances.

Shooting began on April 13 at various locations in Yogyakarta and is scheduled to be completed by early May 2025. The film also collaborates with Dicky R. Maland as director, who is previously known as the Director of Photography for several box office films such as Vina: Before 7 Days, Comic 8, and Indigo.

Cornelio, who also has experience as an actor, believes this collaboration brings a new spirit to the film industry.

"We believe that this fresh story and visual execution will provide a different experience for the audience," he stated.

With an engaging story and a lineup of talented stars, ROHTRIP is expected to perfectly combine elements of horror and comedy. This film is one of the productions to look forward to in 2025.
