Screenwriter of 'MARIPOSA' and Universe 'DANUR' Will Be a Mentor for Star Script Hunt Competition Participants

Kapanlagi.com - Falcon Pictures production house collaborates with the Kwikku writing platform to hold a writing competition for feature film material. Previously involving seven directors, this time it invites eight popular actors, namely Vino G Bastian, Salshabilla Adriani, Mawar De Jongh, Bryan Domani, Onadio Leonardo, Beby Tsabina, Aurora Ribero, and Adpati Dolken.

In the previous competition titled Script Hunt, the winning film material was based on a complete novel. In Star Script Hunt, the format is already in the form of a screenplay. The winner will be directly chosen by the eight actors who will automatically star in the film based on the screenplay.

1. Class with Box Office Film Writers

Realizing that not all participants in the Star Script Hunt competition have a good understanding of the basics of scriptwriting, Falcon Pictures and Kwikku have teamed up with six screenwriters to fill the class every week. They are Alim Sudio, Titien Wattimena, Ifan Ismail, Danial Rifki, Jujur Prananto, and Lele Laila.

"Every week there will be a class, in the class we will share from premises, characters. So there is a syllabus that has been prepared for the next five to six weeks. Not just the basics, but deeper," said Lele Laila, who wrote the script for the box office film DANUR in a press conference via Zoom, Thursday (17/12/2020).

Alim Sudio, the scriptwriter of the film MARIPOSA, added, "What's certain is that it will be exciting. We will share experiences that are not only sweet but also bitter. This is not just an exciting profession, but there are also various things that need to be shared," he explained.

2. Writing a Script is a Team Work

On the same occasion, these six screenwriters also shared a little bit of their good script. According to Alim Sudio, when writing a script, the writer must understand that the script will be worked on together with the team, so ego should not be prioritized.

"A good writer must understand that a script is not an individual work, but a collaborative work. It means there must be a team mentality, because not only the director but also the wardrobe and casting are the ones who read it. So a good writer must understand that. Not ego first. They must be aware that they are the gatekeepers of production, so they are the foundation for everyone. Don't make things difficult for others," he added.
