Canti Tachril Reveals Her Sadness Through the Song 'Mata Hati'

Kapanlagi.com - After releasing her debut single 'Sanubariku' at the beginning of 2022, Canti Tachril is back with her second single titled 'Mata Hati'. This song is a reflection of Canti Tachril's heart when she feels sad and afraid of the changes that are happening in her life. While many of her dreams have not yet been fulfilled.

"I'm the type of person who likes to express myself through music. In 'Mata Hati', I wanted to show the sad side of me because I have many sides. When I wrote this song, I felt that the world is not fair, I felt left behind, at this age can I still pursue any dream? Surely, we have all felt left behind because the world keeps turning," said Canti Tachril when met in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (16/6).

1. Prefers Ballad Songs

Adipati Dolken's wife admitted that she is more passionate about writing songs when she is sad because it allows her to express all her feelings. Therefore, both of her songs are ballads.

"Basically yes (writing songs when sad) because for me, there has to be a sad side to it. Because with that trigger, I can only express what's in my heart," she said.

"Honestly, I love all kinds of songs, bands, ballads, pop, Rnb, but the one I enjoy singing the most is ballad songs. I love Disney songs. Personally, I feel like when I bring it to a ballad like fairy pop or organic, all the contents of my heart come out," she continued.

2. Assisted by Petra Sihombing and Gamaliel

For the process of making this song, Canti Tachril was greatly assisted by several musicians such as Ivan Gojaya as the producer, Petra Sihombing for the lyrics, and Gamaliel Tapiheru as the vocal director.

"I participated in Petra Sihombing's workshop and we ended up rearranging the lyrics together. It sounds better now and I learned a lot from Petra. After I wrote the lyrics and brought them to Petra Sihombing, we worked together to improve them even more," said Canti Tachril.

"Gamal is like my angel of music. He's like, 'Canti, you can do it. If you sing like this, breathe like this, and don't tense up or you'll lose your voice.' Gamal plays such a big role in my music and my life," she continued.

3. Plans to Make an Album

After this, Canti Tachril plans to make a mini album and even a full album. She even plans to collaborate with Petra Sihombing or Gamaliel Tapiheru.

"God willing, if the EP is released next year, I also want to release an album. I really want to collaborate with Petra or Gamal. I'm afraid to say too much, but there are plans with one of them. It's a secret, I can't tell you," she concluded.
