“Initially, I, Iwan (promoter), and Tohpati were having a casual discussion about my concert plan that was delayed due to Covid-19. Then Iwan suggested making a single Semusim by Mas Eros. Without much thought, Tohpati and I immediately agreed. Because the song Semusim itself is already strong,” said Nicky recently.

According to Nicky, the song Semusim that he performed may not be like the current viral music.

“But, this work is more of our idealistic work. We work freely, and we are satisfied. That's more than enough. Hahahahaha,” he said.

Yes, Tohpati expressed a similar sentiment. One of Indonesia's jazz maestros who has collaborated with Nicky several times, he admitted to being very enthusiastic about working on this remake of the song Semusim.

"Remaking old songs must be adjusted to the singer's character. In this Semusim song, from the beginning, it was already imagined that it could be performed with a rock nuance, because the range of this song is quite wide, from low to high notes, while Nicky has been known since the past to be able to sing in very high notes. And for sure, this song Semusim is very famous and good," said Tohpati.
