Doctor Yassin Bintang Provides Education for Children Through the Song 'Stay at Home'

A musical work dedicated by the Yassin Bintang family to Indonesian children who are currently struggling against the Covid-19 pandemic.

"This song was created in 2020 during the early days of the pandemic. Just like any other family, my wife and I had to help our children with online schooling. The children had to stay at home a lot, and we also limited our activities outside," said Yassin Bintang in a virtual press conference on Sunday (24/10/202).

Interestingly, this obstetrician and gynecologist also involved their three children, namely Rania Adiradya Bintang, Raihandya Arkananta Bintang, and Raisha Adhwadya Bintang. Yassin Bintang stated that the song Di Rumah Aja is not just an ordinary pop song, but also serves as education, especially for children.

"During the pandemic, we had no choice but to stay at home. At first, the children were happy to study at home, thinking it was a vacation." But, after they found out that this is a pandemic, they became worried," he said.

"This song is made for education, so that we stay motivated. Now, if the lyrics arise from children's questions. They ask, 'why can't I meet Grandpa and Grandma'," added Yassin Bintang.

1. Initially Didn't Want to Release

The song Di Rumah Aja (At Home Only) was written by Yassin Bintang during the early days of the Covid 19 Pandemic. At that time, Indonesian society was not allowed to engage in activities outside the house.

Initially, Yassin Bintang didn't want to release the song Di Rumah Aja. However, because it was considered educational, the song was eventually produced seriously and released.

"At that time, we wanted to produce it for ourselves, play it on Instagram just to entertain ourselves," he said.

In the process of creating the song Di Rumah Aja, Yassin Bintang was assisted by Aldy from the band Kanda Brother, who served as the music director. The song Di Rumah Aja was packaged in an interesting way. The melody and lyrics created by Yassin Bintang are very easy to remember. The song Di Rumah Aja can already be listened to on digital music platforms such as Spotify, Joox, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.

"From a musical perspective, I was assisted by Aldy from Kanda Brother. So when we packaged this song, we made it easy listening and the melody soft," concluded Yassin Bintang.
