New Song Released Titled 'Asmaradhana', Kamar Jiwa Combines Javanese and English Language

Kapanlagi.com - After releasing the single Tumbuh Untuk Sembuh which contains a mental health campaign, Kamar Jiwa has released a new single titled Asmaradhana.

The song with a strong Swing-Jazzy vibe in bilingual Javanese and English that is chill and cozy tells the inner struggle of a lover.

"About the feeling of loss and longing for someone who has been embedded in the heart, and leaving a lot of empty space in their life," said Fitrah Umami, the vocalist and guitarist of Kamar Jiwa in his written statement.

Meanwhile, Isra Ruddin, CEO of BIG Records Asia, said that the latest song from Kamar Jiwa is very interesting because the lyrics combine English and Javanese language.

"This is the first time we have released a bilingual English and Javanese song, we see that very few musicians and music labels have ever released Javanese-English bilingual songs and maybe this is the first time in Indonesia, so hopefully this song can be accepted by the public not only in Indonesia but this is also one form of promotion of Indonesian culture, especially Javanese language and culture," he said.

2. Passionate Love

Kamar Jiwa, a band consisting of 4 members, namely Fitrah Umami (guitar, vocals), Fauzan Hermawan (drums), Septa Pratama (guitar) and Lukman Tambossey (bass) who are based in Semarang City.

The title of the song 'Asmaradhana' is taken from the term tembang macapat (traditional Javanese song) which consists of two words: Asmoro (Love) and Dhono (Fire). The meaning of Asmaradhana in Javanese roughly translates to passionate love.

3. Fifth Song

This song itself is the fifth song in the entire collection of Javanese tembang macapat, and tells stories of love affairs. In its story, this song is related to the burning of Dewa Asmoro by the third eye of Dewa Shiwa as written in the Kakawin Smaradhana manuscript by Mpu Darmaja.

Meanwhile, according to the Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), the meaning of the word Asmaradhana (Asmarandana) is a form of composition of tembang macapat, usually used to express feelings of sadness, concern, or love (which often ends tragically).

The single 'Asmaradhana' was released digitally on all streaming platforms on May 5, 2022, and will be distributed to all radio networks throughout Indonesia.
