It is known that the initial celebration of the Prophet's Birthday was held in the 4th century of the Hijri calendar by the Fatimid Dynasty in Egypt. The Fatimid Dynasty was a Shia ruling dynasty that had control over various regions in Maghreb, Egypt, and Syria from 362-567 Hijri.

The Fatimid Dynasty also celebrated other occasions such as Ashura, the birthday of Ali, the birthday of Hasan, the birthday of Hussein, the birthday of Fatimah, and so on. Of course, this is based on a narration stating that the Prophet also commemorated his birth and the reception of revelation by fasting on that day. Prophet Muhammad fasted to express gratitude for his birth and the beginning of the reception of revelation on Mondays.

In addition, there is an explanation in a hadith narrated by Muslim that says: "From Abu Qotadah al-Anshori RA, the Messenger of Allah was once asked about fasting on Mondays. The Messenger of Allah replied: On that day, I was born and revelation was sent down to me."

Meaning: O Allah. Give (that is, add) salawat (praise) to Muhammad and to the family of Muhammad, as You have given salawat to Ibrahim and to the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah. Give blessings to Muhammad and to the family of Muhammad. As You have given blessings to Ibrahim and to the family of Ibrahim, indeed You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.

5. Performing Sunnah Fasting

As previously explained, in a hadith narrated by Muslim which states: "From Abi Qotadah al-Anshori RA, the Prophet Muhammad SAW was asked about fasting on Mondays. The Prophet Muhammad SAW replied: On that day, I was born and the revelation was revealed to me".

It is known that Prophet Muhammad SAW liked to fast on Mondays, as it was the day he was born and received the revelation from Allah SWT. You can fast on Mondays and Thursdays, as well as fast on the middle of the month, Yaumul Bids, on the 13th-14th-15th of the Hijri calendar.
