Band GIGI Visits the Funeral Home of Ricky Siahaan, Temporarily Sticks a Sticker on Ricky Siahaan's Coffin

Kapanlagi.com - A somber atmosphere enveloped the Sentosa funeral home in Central Jakarta as members of the band GIGI came to pay their last respects to Ricky Siahaan. GIGI's vocalist, Armand Maulana, was present along with his colleagues to express their condolences for the passing of the guitarist from the band Seringai.

"It's calm; we just met the family and met his wife and children, and the members of Seringai, but Khemod is out, they said, at home with Emot and Adian," said Armand at the Sentosa funeral home in Central Jakarta, Friday (25/4/2025).

1. The Presence of GIGI

The presence of GIGI is not only as a professional companion but also as a friend who shares in the deep sorrow. Armand took the time to talk with the family of the deceased and the Seringai personnel who were present.

"Yes, what's his name, Khemod (the drummer of Seringai) said there was a guitar in front, that was Ricky's guitar at the last moment in Japan, that was just locked in so it felt good, and it turned out to be the last guitar," he said.

2. The Guitar in the Mourning Room Becomes a Strong Symbol

The guitar placed in front of the mourning room has become a strong symbol of Ricky Siahaan's final journey. According to Armand, the guitar is not just a musical instrument, but a cherished object filled with memories of a musician who lived and died with music.

"Khemod said there was a guitar in front, that was Ricky's guitar at the last moment in Japan," Armand said.

3. A Number of Band Stickers Attached

In addition to the guitar, another form of tribute was also seen on Ricky's coffin. A number of band stickers were attached there, including from the band GIGI, who came to pay their respects in person.

"Yes, sticking stickers is a tribute, it's not just a sticker, this is a friend, a relative who is very good to us, as seen from those who came as well," said Hendi.

4. Memories of Armand

Armand also reminisced about the moment when GIGI had the chance to watch the Seringai concert titled Serigala Militia Selamanya at Plaza Festival, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on November 30, 2024. At that time, they had just finished performing in BSD and immediately came to watch.

"When we arrived in Kuningan right after performing in BSD, I saw them play and thought to write on my Instagram, I said I know these people but I only got to see them play in a band today, just the four of us could come to watch a band that is not mainstream but is consistent in not doing trivial things, that’s very difficult," said Armand.
