Not Accepting Being Spat On Became the Main Motive for Nanang Gimbal Against Sandy Permana, Has Held a Grudge Since 2019

Kapanlagi.com - The murder case of actor Sandy Permana committed by the suspect Nanang Gimbal has finally been revealed. The Metro Jaya Police disclosed that this incident was triggered by a long-held grudge dating back to 2019.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra, explained that the suspect and the victim had been neighbors since 2017 in the Cibarusah Raya Housing Complex, Bekasi Regency. The conflict began when the victim held a wedding party in 2019.

"At that time, the victim set up a tent by entering the suspect's yard and cutting down trees without permission. The suspect did not reprimand him because he knew the victim was very hot-tempered, but he began to harbor resentment," said Kombes Wira when met at the Metro Jaya Police, South Jakarta, Thursday (16/1/2025).

Since that incident, their relationship has become disharmonious. They do not greet each other despite being neighbors. In 2020, the suspect decided to sell his house and move to another block in the same housing complex. However, the grudge against the victim remained.

The situation heated up again in October 2024, during a residents' meeting regarding the removal of the neighborhood head due to alleged infidelity. The victim shouted at the neighborhood head's wife, and the suspect reprimanded him.

"The suspect only said, 'No need to shout, just be normal,' but the victim got angry and said, 'You are not a resident here, don’t butt in.' The suspect remained silent, but that incident deepened his resentment," added Kombes Wira.

Things worsened when the suspect's wife, Y, received a warning from the victim, who accused her of intending to attack during the meeting. Although the suspect did not respond directly, he grew to hate the victim even more.

2. Did Not Accept Being Spat On

The peak incident occurred on January 12, 2025, around 06:30 WIB. When the suspect was repairing a motorcycle in front of his house, he saw the victim riding a motorcycle. The victim allegedly spat and looked at the suspect with disdain. This triggered the suspect's emotions.

"The suspect took a knife from the chicken coop next to his house, chased the victim, and injured the victim who was still on the motorcycle. The suspect stabbed the victim's stomach twice, then attacked the victim's temple, head, chest, and neck," said Kombes Wira.

The victim managed to resist, but the suspect continued to attack until the victim tried to escape. Unfortunately, the suspect chased and stabbed the victim's back again. The victim's motorcycle eventually fell, and the victim ran to save himself, while the suspect fled on a motorcycle to the rice field area.

After leaving the motorcycle by the edge of the rice field, the suspect escaped by hitching a ride on a truck to Karawang, West Java, where he hid. The police eventually managed to capture the suspect at his hiding location a few days after the incident.
