Kapanlagi.com - A massive fire struck Glodok Plaza, West Jakarta, on Wednesday night, January 15, 2025. The incident caused significant damage to the building located on Jalan Mangga Besar II, Tamansari, West Jakarta.
The acting head of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat), Satriadi Gunawan, stated that they first received a report of the fire at 21:22 WIB. Videos of the fire have circulated on social media, showing thick black smoke rising high from the scene.
"Burning object: Disco on the 7th floor of Glodok Plaza - ( BUP )," said Satriadi in a written report quoted by Liputan6 on Wednesday night.
At exactly 21:30 WIB, the Fire Department officers arrived at the location. The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service has deployed 21 fire engines and 105 personnel to extinguish the flames. From the information received, it turns out that there are residents trapped in the fire.
The firefighters are currently in the process of evacuation. As of this report, the exact cause of the incident at Glodok Plaza is still unknown.
"Fire Situation/Status: Extinguishing Process - ( Red )," they said.
