The divorce turmoil between Paula Verhoeven and Baim Wong continues to escalate. Although they have officially divorced, the controversy between them has not truly ended.
Famous lawyer in the country Hotman Paris Hutapea also highlighted the divorce controversy, especially regarding the divorce ruling from the judge. Hotman Paris believes that the divorce ruling of Baim and Paula raises many oddities.
Hotman Paris disagrees with the spokesperson for the South Jakarta Religious Court reading the divorce ruling of Baim Wong to the public. As is known, access to that divorce ruling was not actually uploaded to the website.
"I disagree with the spokesperson of the judge who is not a judge; it was only the public relations officer who announced the contents of the decision by saying that she is a disobedient woman and that she cheated. That is not allowed, said Hotman, quoted by KapanLagicom via YouTube Cumicumi, Thursday (8/5/2025).
Hotman Paris openly expressed his opinion that the judge's decision regarding the divorce of Paula Verhoeven and Baim Wong is considered wrong and inappropriate.
"The main reason the judge decided on the divorce was allegedly infidelity with a third party. But it was not explained what kind of infidelity, even though according to the law, the reason for divorce (infidelity) must be due to adultery," he continued.
Next, several witnesses emerged who gave shocking testimonies. The emergence of these witnesses leaned more towards Baim according to Hotman Paris.Â
"Paula told me that one of her maids was somewhat biased towards the male side, so there were chats with words of longing that leaked out. But that doesn't constitute adultery," said Hotman Paris.Â
On one occasion, Hotman also confirmed that he would not act as Paula's legal counsel in this matter. Nevertheless, he continues to voice his opinion that the issue deserves fair attention.
