The divorce turmoil between Paula Verhoeven and Baim Wong continues to escalate. Although they have officially divorced, the controversy between them has not truly ended.

The famous lawyer from Indonesia, Hotman Paris Hutapea, has also highlighted the divorce controversy, especially regarding the divorce ruling from the judge. Hotman Paris believes that the divorce decision for Baim and Paula raises many oddities.

Hotman Paris disagrees with the spokesperson of the South Jakarta Religious Court reading the divorce ruling of Baim Wong to the public. As is known, access to the divorce ruling was actually not uploaded to the website.

"I do not agree with the spokesperson of the judge who is not a judge, it is just the public relations officer who announced the contents of the ruling by saying that she is a disobedient woman and she cheated. That is not allowed," said Hotman, quoted by KapanLagicom via YouTube Cumicumi, Thursday (8/5/2025).

Hotman Paris bluntly expressed his opinion that the judge's ruling regarding the divorce of Paula Verhoeven and Baim Wong is considered wrong and inappropriate.

"The main reason the judge decided on the divorce was said to be infidelity with a third party. But it was not explained what kind of infidelity, whereas according to the law, the reason for divorce (infidelity) must be due to adultery," he continued.

Next, several witnesses appeared who gave surprising testimonies. The emergence of these witnesses was more in favor of Baim according to Hotman Paris.

"Paula told me that one of her maids was somewhat biased towards the male party, so there were chats with words of longing that leaked. But that is not adultery," said Hotman Paris.

On one occasion, Hotman also confirmed that he would not act as Paula's legal counsel in this matter. Nevertheless, he still voiced his opinion that the issue deserves fair attention.
