Writing His Own Defense Note, Vicky Prasetyo Hopes the Judge Will Consider His Punishment

Kapanlagi.com - Defamation trial with defendant Vicky Prasetyo was held again at the South Jakarta District Court. In the trial, Kalina Oktarani's husband read his own defense plea.

"Yes, it was composed by myself earlier, (composed) from the beginning of the trial until now," said Vicky Prasetyo after the trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday (5/8).

The defense note read in front of the judge was said to be written by Vicky Prasetyo based on facts and witness statements in the trial. Therefore, the former husband of Angel Lelga hopes that the judge will consider it when delivering the verdict.

"As stated by the witnesses, they mentioned that the man was inside the room, maybe that will be taken into consideration," said Vicky Prasetyo.

From the beginning until now, Vicky Prasetyo has consistently emphasized that the raid he conducted on Angel Lelga who was still his wife at the time was solely to protect his dignity as a husband.

"Don't let this case become an example for all women who make mistakes or are in a room with another man when a husband defends the honor of his family, but instead he (the husband) becomes the one with problems," he concluded.

1. Not Experiencing Difficulties When Writing a Defense Note

According to Vicky Prasetyo's legal team, it is not too difficult to write a defense note. It is more or less the same as what Vicky conveyed, the legal team emphasized that what is written and conveyed is truly the facts experienced by their client regarding the case.

"So this is not a complicated matter because it's all facts. So our client just needs to tell the story. We compare it with the applicable laws and the facts presented in the defense, so it's just normal," said Arif, Vicky's legal representative at the South Jakarta District Court, on Wednesday (29/7/2021).

In the same opportunity, Vicky briefly revealed the contents of the defense note. The husband of Kalina Oktarani admitted that he was only trying to reveal the actual events regarding the case.

"Just telling the facts that happened. and some points because it's a domestic issue. That's why I and my legal team often communicate. Later, they are more skilled in creating a defense from paragraph to paragraph, I just need to read it. I have written some. There was also a voice note yesterday," said Vicky Prasetyo.

This problem started when Vicky Prasetyo ran as a legislative candidate in the 2019 election. At that time, Vicky conducted socialization through social media. From the post, Angel Lelga's sister is suspected of giving comments that are considered inappropriate.

"Seeing this, there are several people who gave comments that we feel are not good and not appropriate at all for adults who understand the law. So, one of them is Angel Lelga's sister, Vicky's ex-wife, and there is one more person that we have reported," he said.

"So, because my client feels disturbed and harmed as a good citizen, he took legal steps by making a police report," concluded Sri Dharen.
