The Indosiar dormitory houses 42 participants of Dangdut Academy 8. They train, maintain their health, and learn to be independent.
Kapanlagi.com - Lesti Kejora appeared as a judge on Dangdut Academy 8 with a straightforward and constructive assessment style. Throughout the competition, she often provided input that touched on three important aspects: vocal technique, competitive mentality, and stage performance, to help contestants sharpen their skills in each round. Some contestants highlighted by Lesti include Nana and Sakhi from Bulungan, as well as Murama and Ari, each showing different potentials and challenges.
To Nana, Lesti emphasized the importance of mental readiness when performing in front of the audience and judges. "All the academies are like that too. So, in a competition, we can be challenged on stage. So you (Nana) prepare your mental, okay dear? Your spirit is beautiful. Your voice is good too, you have to be confident," Lesti told Nana.
These inputs were given by Lesti as a provision for the contestants to remain stable when facing stage pressure. According to her, technical ability will be maximally displayed when mental focus can be maintained from the beginning to the end of the song.

Lesti Kejora has repeatedly emphasized the importance of a competitive mentality. She reminded that in competitions, challenges can arise suddenly while on stage, making psychological readiness the key to maintaining performance.
Specifically for Nana from Bulungan, Lesti encouraged her to be more confident, in line with the quality of her voice which she has already assessed as good. The emphasis on self-confidence became the main advice so that the execution of the song could be consistent.
Similar advice was given to Ari when performing the song 'Kau Cantik Alami'. Ari almost forgot the lyrics but managed to get back on track with her performance. Lesti appreciated that step and reminded her to maintain concentration from start to finish. Lesti reminded Ari, "When you're on stage like this, just focus more, don’t get easily distracted, it doesn’t matter if there are distractions on the left, right, front, or back, just focus on singing."
In addition to mental aspects, Lesti also highlighted technical details that affect vocal quality. One participant who received notes was Sakhi, also from Binjai, who was considered to still need some polishing to make his performance more characterful.
According to Lesti, Sakhi needs to work on the dynamics of the song, the way of delivery, and the placement of cengkok. The stage presence was also requested to be more convincing so that the overall performance has consistent appeal from start to finish.
"One thing that you really need to improve is the dynamics, the way you deliver the song. Also the placement of cengkok. And your performance. You need to be more confident," said Lesti, outlining the areas that need improvement for Sakhi.
Not only giving corrections, Lesti is also open to giving praise. Murama, while performing the song 'Pestamu Dukaku', successfully captured Lesti's attention and received three Standing Ovations (SO).
Lesti described Murama as a 'perfect' figure and a 'complete package'. She conveyed this assessment by highlighting her beauty, politeness, and good attitude, both offstage and on stage.
"Murama, you know that seeing you sing here in front is so soothing. Because you are perfect, you are flawless. Your face is beautiful, polite. Your attitude is not just your own attitude; you are already good. But your attitude on stage is also great. Truly. So, you are a complete package," praised Lesti.
This mention serves as a form of appreciation for Murama's performance, which was deemed solid from various aspects, after delivering the song and capturing attention during her performance moment.
