After a Break for Film, Tissa Biani Returns with EP "Are We?"

Kapanlagi.com - Tissa Biani brings good news for her fans by returning to produce work in the music world. After focusing on acting for quite a while, the girlfriend of Dul Jaelani has officially released a mini album or EP (Extended Play) titled "Are We?".

Tissa Biani shared her musical journey, which actually began a few years ago. She explained how she first released a song before taking a break to focus on her acting career.

"Okay, so the first time I released a song was actually in 2019. At that time I released it together with the band Element Reunion under Raffi Ahmad's label, Rans Entertainment, eh Rans Music. From there, I took a break from the music world," said Tissa Biani when met in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/8/2025).

1. Turning Point of Tissa Biani's Music Career

During that hiatus, Tissa admitted that her singing activities were limited to social media content or small collaborations. She emphasized that for the past five years, her main priority has indeed been in the film industry, which has elevated her name.

"Well, if I sing, it's just covers on social media or if there's a need for support, collaborations, anything like that, I join in. Because honestly, for the last 5 years, I have really been focused on films, from the shooting to everything. I prefer to focus on my main job in filmmaking," she said.

The turning point in her music journey occurred in 2022 when a major label recognized her potential. According to Tissa, the offer came from Trinity Optima Production, which became a golden opportunity for her to create again.

"Then suddenly in 2022, I was offered to join the Trinity label. Trinity, wow, I think this is one of the biggest opportunities to join a major label that also supports many renowned artists. I didn't think twice, I just said yes," explained the girl born on July 24.

2. Film Shooting Break, Used for EP Recording

She took the opportunity to show another side of herself outside of the acting world. She felt this was the right moment to prove that Tissa Biani can also sing.

"I think this could also provide a new opportunity. Oh, Tissa can sing too, besides acting in films. Finally, I just released singles because of my limited time, I have to divide my time between film and music," she said.

Although she has joined a major label, her busy schedule in the film industry requires her to manage her time wisely. Eventually, she found the perfect moment to focus on working on her dream EP in 2024.

"By 2024, thank God I have about 3 months of free time, not shooting films, so I immediately started making the EP, I went straight to recording, workshops, everything, that’s why the EP’s fate was finally aligned in 2025," she concluded.
