Kapanlagi.com - Senior musician Fariz RM is back in court for the trial related to allegations of drug abuse and possession at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (3/7/2025).
Fariz arrived at the court around 1:45 PM WIB under the escort of the South Jakarta Prosecutor's Office. He appeared calm and healthy upon arrival, wearing a white shirt and a prison vest.
"Alhamdulillah healthy," said Fariz RM while walking towards the detention room of the court.

To the media crew who asked about his readiness to face the trial that day, Fariz simply smiled without saying a word.

Fariz RM attended the trial with the agenda of listening to witness testimonies that were believed to potentially lighten his sentence in the case against him. This information was conveyed directly by his attorney, Deolipa Yumara.
"Witnesses to lighten today, hopefully the trial goes smoothly," said Deolipa Yumara.

As is known, the case that ensnared Fariz RM began with his arrest by the police. The musician, known for his hit songs from the 80s, was apprehended in Bandung, West Java, on February 18, 2025.

During the arrest process, the police found evidence in the form of meth and marijuana. This evidence was then used as a basis to charge Fariz in the ongoing legal process.

Fariz RM has undergone an indictment hearing some time ago. The Public Prosecutor charged him with fairly serious articles, including articles related to drug trafficking.

As reported earlier, Fariz RM was arrested by the South Jakarta Metro Police in Bandung, West Java, on February 18, 2025. During his arrest, the police secured evidence in the form of narcotics, namely meth and marijuana.

Fariz RM has undergone a trial session, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) charged Fariz RM under the drug trafficking article, namely Article 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. He was also charged with allegedly possessing and storing methamphetamine without a valid permit, thus he was additionally charged under Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Narcotics Law. If found guilty, Fariz RM faces a prison sentence of up to 12 to 15 years in prison.
